In order to create a narrative in my paintings I like to use recurring figures for my fictional settings. Placing together real or imagined figures, alive or already gone, makes me feel that art is a way to create what we want to be real, almost like magic.
One of these figures is the image of my grandfather in different stages of age, filtered through my perception. He is 85 by now and the greatest and most generous guy. I love to have him on the paintings that surround me since I can not see him very often.
Here he is starring in Raising Hope and Entourage of Light.
